The Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Fight Association was founded in 2016 in Istanbul by the families of children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (commonly known as DMD). It is a young organization managed by these families.
The primary goal of the association is to accelerate efforts towards treatment, provide support to scientists working in this field, take necessary steps to overcome obstacles, raise awareness about DMD, and engage in lobbying activities to improve political and legal rights related to the disease.
The vision of the association is to lead the fight against DMD on all fronts with the aim of ultimately ending the disease. As a rapidly growing, young, and dynamic organization, the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Fight Association has formed a strong bond among its members, spread throughout Turkey. This unity has enabled them to raise awareness about DMD across the country. Thanks to the awareness created among both the Turkish public and at the government level, the association continues to develop projects aimed at improving the lives of individuals with DMD.
The members and leaders of the association are committed to continuing this fight until Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is completely eradicated.
